Supporting Charities 2017-2018



 In January 2018 a grant from the Masonic Charitable Foundation was made to help provide a "Doves of Peace" Memorial Bench to be installed at Bramley War Memorial's Peace Garden.The "Doves of Peace" Bench was installed in October 2018, an inscribed plaque was added just before the Remembrance Sunday Service, which also commemorated the Centenary of the Armistice that end World War One.

In November 2017 a total of £2566.00 was presented to Yorkshire Cancer Centre (Leeds), this money was raised entirely from within the Lodge from a combination of raffles, plant sales and donations.

Middleton Park Equestrian Centre Riding For The Disabled.

The Equestrian Centre was opened in 1991 and was originally a joint venture between Leeds City Council and Riding for the Disabled.

The Centre was officially opened by Princess Anne in 1993. Not only can they offer Horse riding for partially Disabled They can offer Horse Riding Using a Ramp and A Hoist to allow.

Wheelchair bound Disabled to also Ride horses, and can offer Carriage driving to wheelchair bound people. The Lodge of the Morning Star asked West Riding Masonic Charities for a  Grant to allow them to Buy Equipment. The Cheque for £2500.00 was presented By W. Bro. Brian Carter Master, W. Bro. Colin Bond P.P.S.G.W and W. Bro. Bob Naylor  PROV.G.Swd.B Charity Steward.


For a second year our WM's Charity was Yorkshire Cancer Centre (Leeds) now renamed as Leeds Cares. On November 2018 a cheque for £2451.30 was presented making a total of over £5000.00 raised in the last two years for this Charity, all raised entirely from within the lodge from raffles, Ladies Night, donations and other social events.
